TVs and other Appliances that connected to the Mains Supply, have dangerous voltages inside. Up to 400 volts DC is stored on capacitors in the power supply. These voltages can remain even after the power supply has been removed from the appliance. Never work on an appliance with the power connected unless you are a qualified TV technician. When power is connected the heatsinks in the Power Supply become LIVE and can cause a serious Electric Shock and even Death, if touched.
